Details of maple plywood production process
1. Maple Harvesting and Primary Processing
The production of maple plywood first need to choose high-quality maple raw materials. Maple should have clear grain, obvious angle, no bug eyes, cracks, damage and other defects. After harvesting, the logs are first processed, graded and cut into appropriate lengths and widths for the next step of processing.
2. Drying
After the primary processing of the maple wood for drying. Generally a drying kiln is used so that the water in the wood gradually evaporates to reach a stable moisture content for subsequent processing. The drying process can be controlled for at least 2 months, the longer the time to make the plywood quality is better, but the cost will also increase accordingly.
3. Finishing
After drying the maple wood will sometimes appear bent or twisted phenomenon, need to be trimmed to ensure that the flatness and size of each piece of wood is consistent. This process is important because the quality of plywood is limited by the condition of each piece of wood.
4. Cutting
After trimming the wood and then cutting process, according to the board needs to be cut into a number of thin boards. Currently CNC equipment is used for cutting to ensure the quality of each panel.
5. Lamination
The pre-prepared wood is assembled together to form the required size and quantity, the veneer is de-angled and flattened, and then brushed with glue on the surface of the board, and the boards are pressed together one by one, to facilitate the production of hollow plates such as translucent steel or aluminum.
6. Pressing
Laminating good maple boards after a specific temperature for a number of heavy pressure to produce a greater pressure, so that the glue to give full play to its role, will be a single piece of wood completely bonded to the end of the material.
7. Sanding
The pressed boards need to be sanded to make the surface smooth and flawless.
8. Painting
The last step is to paint the plywood. Wooden board paint treatment can be achieved to protect the surface of the wood or hollow metal plate at the same time, so that it has a beautiful appearance effect.
